Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Chronicle of a Death Foretold - Gabriel García Marquez

Criticism:

This book, which is one of the most recognized of the spanish language literature, is a mysterious reading matter which turns "liquid" for anyone who reads it. It is perfect as much for readers without a wide literary maturity as for very experienced readers who want to read something easy, quick and entertaining, but that at the same time isn't too simple but instead a piece of art which flows all by itself. Therefore, I would recommend it to
men, to women, to girls and to boys (more than 10 years old).
This book, although quite short, always maintains a degree of intrigue and curiosity in the reader, which doesn't waver even once it is finished. All through it, the reader makes himself questions which before having been answered have already made others arise, and so on and so forth. Despite this, it is quite predictable and not too surprising nor excessively exciting, from my point of view, but this doesn't make it stop being entertaining at the same time as a mirror to a society which leaves a lot to think about.
