Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Aura - Carlos Fuentes

Criticism:

This book is really well written. When you read it you can feel the tension perfectly, the smooth oppression of the plot. Although you are perfectly aware of what will happen in the next page, and the ending is implied all through the book, the tension is in that
you know what will happen but you fear it and hope that you are wrong. You hope you are mistaken. That is why this book hooks the reader a lot and is a very quick read. Moreover, it is short and easy- for those who look for a light reading- and of a gothic character, a bit grotesque and deffinately red.
This is why this book is a very good classic both for girls and for boys; a classic of the type which make the reader think about what he has read and mark him quite deeply.
