Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

1984 - George Orwell

Criticism:

This classic written by George Orwell is a masterpiece which is worth reading. This novel portrays George Orwell's philosophical and political ideas, but in a very entertaining and interesting way which engages the reader. The ending is quite predictable, but this doesn't make it worse as the aim of this book is clearly not to excite the reader excessively but to help us observe the world's structure, as well as it's society's structure.
Therefore, George Orwell is loyal to his style full of pessimism and realism mixed, and makes the reader reflect largely about what he has read. Moreover, the foresight of the future which he possesses is admirable, as is the fluency of his language as he transmits his ideas.
