Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

The Song of the Lioness - Tamora Pierce

Criticism:

This is a series written for young people- especially girls- from ten to fifteen years of age. The first book of the series seems a bit childish, but as it advances it gets more interesting and deep. From my point of view, it plays too much with
the reader's pride and self-esteem, boosting it as much as it can; but it is a very entertaining book of adventures which will make the reader feel strongly what the characters feel. The problem that I found in it is that in the moment when it is read, it is especially fun, but after some time it leaves an empty feeling of no depth.
The series gives very possitive messages, and the relationships between the characters are very realistic. From this point of view, it is very interesting to read the series looking at how they develop, because I think that they reflect true relationships in a way that most books don't do. Furthermore, the ending is, at the time of being read, very fulfilling.
