Criticism:
This series is made up by many books (I think that four, for now) that tell different stories with different main characters, but that happen in the same world and always share characters (the main character of one of the books may be the best friend of the main character of another of the books, for example). For now, I've read the three first books: Born of Night, Born of Fire and Born of Ice; and soon I'll be able to read the fourth: Born of Shadows.

The three novels I've already read are very original and are fantastically written. They happen in the future, so they are fantasy novels; but the world in which they're told is extremely well described and very realistic, and the way in which the world the characters live in have influenced their personalities introduces the reader deeper into the stories.
These books are bursting of action and a lot of romance. They are very original and very well written, with a very quick pace that makes you read them very quickly and makes them feel extremely short. I must say that my favourite of the three books I've read is Born of Fire- the second. It is, from my point of view, the most original, exciting, touching and better written of the three. The characters in this book possess very singular personalities, they are very imaginative and are described in a way in which the reader understands to perfection all of their feelings and thoughts; starting at the end of the book to comprehend the reason of their actions even without the author having to explain them. Meanwhile, the characters of Born of Night and Born of Ice have much less singular personalities. To me, they all seemed very similar to each other, and I think that even though the author tries to change their personalities and way of being, she's not very successful and only manages to change their hair colour. The first book I read of the series was the second one, and maybe that's why it was my favourite; because after reading one of those books the rest are extremely alike and predictable. In the first and the third I empathized much less with the characters- specially in the first; and added to that there are, from my point of view, too many characters and names that the reader is expected to remember.
In conclusion, the second book was for me the most exciting of the three and the one which has the best plot. My only complaint is that, mostly in the third book the author, although she writes wonderfully apart from being very imaginative and explaining to perfection the mechanisms and workings of the world she is describing; doesn't introduce the reader well in the story at the beginning. She tries to communicate naturally and through the characters the events that have taken them to their present circumstances too quickly, and sometimes it turns out very unnatural.
But readers, don't be confused because this series is one of the best I've read, it is as well writtten as it is planned and it grabs the reader as very, AND I REPEAT VERY, few books can. It is written for adults and I think that girls will like it best; and I'd recommend it because it truly is beautiful.
