Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Knife Edge, Checkmate and Double Cross - Malorie Blackman

Criticism:

I'm going to talk about the three books that follow Noughts and Crosses, written by Malorie Blackman. They are all wonderfully written and the spyglass that shows you completely the characters' personalities is incredible. In the end, the reader knows to perfection exactly how the main characters are and living the events as if the reader were one of them. Furthermore, they are books overly realistic taking in mind that the story is very unlikely; but the way in which they are written with each space and feeling of the characters deeply analized gives the series an air of credibility very difficult to find in books that tell real life stories. In the other side, these books contain everything, including action, romance, tension, etc., and I've heard both boys and girls talk wonderfully about them.
They are books that make you ponder the world we live in and the world the writer describes; and most of all the similarities between both. I must admit that I didn't like the second book as much as the rest and I considered not continuing with the series when I read it (one reason was that with these books you suffer a lot, and that book especially didn't have many possitive sides), but I now realize the mistake that would have been and I encourage you not to do that because they are all really good, original and fantastically written books. They are all so well written that they seem very short, nearly impossible to stop reading and you read them extremely quickly.
