Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Border - Jordi Sierra I Fabra

Criticism

This book's original title is Frontera, and it is like most of the books written by its author: a book immensely philosophical that shows us how the writer sees life. It contains very little action and is very slow, and I must admit that it is not one of my favourite from the author, but it makes you ponder in the author's profound and characteristic style about life and the book's theme, which in this case is the difference between the muslim and the catholic cultures, and the frontiers they cause between people.
From my point of view this novel is quite insipid but nice, although it neither grabs you nor makes you feel much what the characters feel.
