Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Wuthering Heights

Criticism:

This book, as its title suggests, is dark, gloomy... It is a book written for people with literary experience who at the same time are willing to take a walk around the craziness museum. This novel, which brood so much over the themes of love and the effect that
love can cause in mental health; and of rejection, and of social pressure, maintains a tone of cruelty, passion, and most of all derangement, which at the same time fascinates and terrifies the reader. It is interesting to read this book because it portrays an extreme point of view about the negativity of two of the predominant aspects of our lives: love and society; and how the conflict between these can lead to the destruction of lives.
This book is extremely negative; but that doesn't mean that it is not worth reading. Nevertheless, my recommendation is to chose the appropriate moment to start it because, although it is quite entertaining, it won't be enjoyed if there are no will and strength enough to investigate such corners of the mind. Otherwise, it will leave a dark, creepy feeling in the reader that is not enjoyable, as well as the idea that it is not worth reading.
