Before anything, I'd like to say that even though this blog is written in English, I recommend you to do as I did and read the books I criticise in their original language (if you can). This way you'll like them much more and you'll find astute word games and double meanings which will help you read the book in all of its potential.

Guardians of Time - Marianne Curley

Criticism:

This is a fictional trilogy formed by three books which narrate an enormously original story: The Named, The Dark and The Key which grab you a lot and ends as sadly as it ends movingly. They are some of the few books that, when you finish them, make you ponder them for a long time for you to be able to take in what you've read and accept it. They are extremely sad, I repeat; so much that when I finished them I started crying as much for the story as for the fact that I'd finished them and wouldn't be reading what happent next. They contain everything: action, romanticism, humour, sadness... they are very complete books which would make many famous writers envy the way in which the characters are introduced and described, and the way in which the story develops, taking unexpected turns through the adventures. I would recommend them to people who liked the Stravaganza series, written by Mary Hoffman; and vice versa. It is very good and makes the reader want to read it one time after another. By the way, from my point of view the last book is the best... and the second the worst.
