Criticism
Abhorsen is a trilogy formed by three books which are full of pure fantasy and magic: Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen. These books make a good reader mistake more fantasy from reality in each page and in most of the story they grab you with an impressive force; but the characters are not developed enough in the last two books. They are written with an inmense and dreamlike imagination, and although the story and the theme are very original and very little beleivable, the magnific writer makes the reader forget logic and start to believe in what he reads. The only problem, from my point of view, is that the story of the two last books overshadows the one of the first book and lessens its importance; and as the author develops more and concentrates more on the first characters' personality; and makes you become very attached to them, and the result of an entire book of magnificent and incredible adventures being overshadowed by the next isn't, from my point of view, very good. Furthermore, I think that the last book is too lofty. Anyway, this triology is recommendable for relatively young people who like action and fantasy.
